Varad Laxmi Vrat 2026 in Shravan Month in North India

Varad Laxmi Vrat is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and is observed on Fridays during the Shravan Shukla Paksha – waxing phase of moon in Shravan month. Varad Laxmi Vrat 2026 dates are August 14, August 21 and August 28 as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in North India.



The puja, fasting and other rituals on the day is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. It is believed that she bless devotees during the period. Varad here signifies the power of the goddess to give boons.

There is a belief that Goddess Lakshmi appeared during the Samudra Manthan or churning of ocean. This happened in the Shravan month.

The famous Varalakshmi Puja is also held during the period in South India.
