सा मां पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेष जाड्यापहा॥१॥
 
शुक्लां ब्रह्मविचार सार परमां आद्यां जगद्व्यापिनीं
वीणा-पुस्तक-धारिणीमभयदां जाड्यान्धकारापहाम्।
हस्ते स्फटिक माला कांणि विधृता पद्मासने संस्थिता
वन्दे तां परमेश्वरीं भगवतीं बुद्धिप्रदां शारदाम्॥२॥ 

सरस्वती महाभागे विद्ये कमललोचने।
विद्यारूपे विशालाक्षि विद्यां देहि नमोस्तु ते॥३॥
Ya Kundendu tushaara haara dhavalaa yaa shubhra vastraavritaa
Yaa veena varadanda manditakara yaa shveta padmaasanaa
Yaa brahmaachyuta shankara prabhritibhih devaih sadaa vanditaa
Saa maam paatu sarasvati bhagavatee nihshesha jaadyaapahaa1

Translation: "She who is as fair as a Kunda flower, the moon, and a garland of Tushar flowers, who is dressed in white garments, She whose hands are adorned by the best of veenas and who is seated on a white lotus, She who is always adored by Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva and other gods, May that Goddess Saraswati protect me and remove all my laziness and ignorance."
