Yaa veena varadanda manditakara yaa shveta padmaasanaa।
Yaa brahmaachyuta shankara prabhritibhih devaih sadaa vanditaa
Saa maam paatu sarasvati bhagavatee nihshesha jaadyaapahaa॥1॥
Translation: "She who is as fair as a Kunda flower, the
moon, and a garland of Tushar flowers, who is dressed in white garments, She
whose hands are adorned by the best of veenas and who is seated on a white
lotus, She who is always adored by Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva and other gods,
May that Goddess Saraswati protect me and remove all my laziness and
ignorance."
