Rare Six Face Muruga Murti (Idol) on Display in Art Institute of Chicago

A very rare six face Muruga Murti (Idol) is currently on display in Art Institute of Chicago. The murti believed to be of 12th century AD has twelve arms. The six faces are arranged in a circular fashion and the murti is seated on a peacock. Two of the arms are in Varada and Hasta posture. The other arms hold various weapons associated with Muruga.
