Bhauma – About God Bhauma in Hindu Religion

Bhauma or Mangal or Mars is a popular deity in Hindu Religion and is one among the Navagrahas. He is also known as Angarak. Bhauma is represented as either seated on a goat or on a throne or on a golden chariot drawn by eight horses.

The color of Bhauma is red – it should be like fire.

This planetary deity has four arms. One of the right hands is in Varada or Abhaya posture. The other arms carry weapon Shakti, Gada and Shoola.

Flowers offered are red in color.  Cloth offered is also red in color.

The Pradosh observed on Tuesday or Mangalwar is known as Bhauma Pradosh. The belief is that those having trouble in horoscope related to Mangal Grah will get relief by observing Pradosh Vrat dedicated to Shiva on the day.
