Kakatiya Festival – Warangal Ramappa Temple 800th Anniversary Celebration

The 800th anniversary celebration of the Warangal Ramappa Temple known as the Kakatiya Festival will be held from December 21, 2012. Also known as Ramalingeshwara Temple, the temple is dedicated to Shiva and is a classic example of Kakatiya Dynasty architecture.

Inaugural functions of the celebrations will be organised for three days from December 21 at archaeological sites of Kakatiyas at Warangal --Thousand-Pillar temple and Warangal Fort besides, Ramappa temple. The celebrations will also be held at other important places, which form part of Kakatiya Empire.
