Sudarshana Jayanthi is dedicated to the Sudarshana Chakra of Hindu God Vishnu. It is believed that the holy Chakra made its appearance on the day. Sudarshana Jayanthi 2024 date is July 16. It is said that worshipping Sudarshana Chakra is equivalent to worshipping all the ten Avatars of Vishnu. The day is of great significance to many Vaishnava Sects in South India . It is observed on Shukla Paksha Ashada Dasami.
There is a belief that puja and worship of the Sudarshana Chakra helps in curing various illness. It is also worshiped for attaining moksha and for redemption of sins.
Sudarshana Yantra is worshipped on the day. Other special pujas and prayers dedicated to the Chakra are observed on the day at homes and in temples.
