Trilochan Ashtami 2026 date - When is Trilochan Ashtami?

Trilochan Ashtami is observed in the Jyeshta month. It is dedicated to Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Trilochan Ashtami 2026 date is May 10. Trilochan is one among the numerous names of Shiva. A vrat is observed on the day which falls during Jyeshtha Krishna Paksha Ashtami or eighth day during the waning phase of moon.

Trilochan means three-eyed and refers to the three eyes of Shiva. Special pujas are offered at Trilochan Mahadev Temples on the day.

It is also believed that spending the night without sleeping on the day in a Trilochan Mahadev Temple will help in attaining Moksha.

Some Hindu communities observe a fast on the day from sunrise to sunset.

The third eye of Shiva is symbolically associated with purification through Agni.
