Til Dwadashi – Importance Of Tila Dwadasi

Til Dwadashi, also referred as Tila Dvadasi, is observed on the 12th day of the Krishna Paksha or waning phase of moon in Magh Month as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in certain parts of North India especially in Madhya Pradesh. Til Dwadashi 2021 date is February 8. The vrat is dedicated to Sri Krishna. Til is Sesame seeds and people make offering of Til in sacrificial fire and also donate it.

It is widely believed that donating Til on Tila Dwadasi day is highly meritorious.

Til Dwadasi is observed the day after Shattila Ekadasi, which is also dedicated to Til.

Please note that Til Dwadasi is also observed during 12th day of the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in Magh Month. This date is February 24, 2021.
