Brahma Savitri Vrat

This is a unique ritual observed on the Amavasya day in Magh month in calendars followed in North India. Brahma Savitri Vrat 2026 date is January 18. It is observed on the no moon day of Magh month by certain Hindu communities in North India.

Please note that the Vat Amavasya Vrat in Jyeshta month (June – July) is also referred as Brahma Savitri Vrata.

Not much information is available about this vrat. Reference of the vrat is found in the Narada Purana and other texts.
