Kaal Sarpa Dosha – What is Kal Sarpa Yog?

Kaal Sarpa Dosha is a bad planetary position in a person’s horoscope and is considered harmful by those people who believe in astrology. It is believed that those who have Kal Sarpa Yog in their horoscope will have to go through tough times throughout the life. Astrologers suggest that this dosha happens due to the bad positioning of Rahu. The best remedy suggested to get rid of this yog is to worship Hanuman and perform Nagdosh Nivaran Puja.

As a remedy for this dosha some people also release a pair of snakes into forest on the Nag Panchami day – fifth day of the shukla paksha or waxing phase of moon in Shravan month (July – August).

Another remedy suggested to get rid of Kal Sarpa Yog is feeding of ants and fishes.

Kaal Sarpa Dosha is said to occur when all planets are hemmed between the nodes of the Moon, Rahu (the north lunar node) and Ketu (the south lunar node), within the celestial sphere. The belief is that this alignment can bring about various challenges and obstacles in one's life.

However, it's important to note that the concept of Kaal Sarpa Dosha is not universally accepted among all astrologers, and its effects can vary widely depending on the interpretation and the astrologer's school of thought. Some astrologers may attach significant importance to it, while others may not consider it a major factor in their readings.

Like many astrological beliefs, whether or not one believes in Kaal Sarpa Dosha is a matter of personal belief and cultural tradition. Some people may find comfort or explanation in such astrological concepts, while others may view them as superstition.
