Champak Dwadashi is observed on the 12th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) of Jyeshta Month (May – June). Champaka Dwadasi 2025 date is June 8. The day is of great significance is Lord Vishnu temples in Odisha. The day is also observed as Ram Dwadashi and Raghav Dwadasi.
Some people observe it as the second day of the Rukmini Haran. The day is also of great importance at the famous Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The leaves and flowers of Champak flowers are used for the puja on the day. This observance is limited to certain Hindu Vaishnav communities. The main event on the day is held at Jagannath Temple .
Performing puja of Lord Krishna (Vitthalnath form of Krishna) with Champak flowers is considered highly auspicious. It is believed that doing so will help in attaining moksha. The offering is also seen as a way to get blessed with Siddhi and Vishnu Lok. Constant delays in various spheres of life is removed after doing puja on the day.
In some regions, murtis of Bhagavan Sri Ram and Lakshman are worshiped. There is a belief that King Dashrath observed a vrat on the day to get children. Ram, Bharat, Lakshmana and Shatrughna was born after performing a vrat on the day.
If Champa flowers are not available then a person can do puja with white or yellow color flowers.
