Kumbha Masam 2018 – Malayalam Kumbham Month in 2018



Kumbha Masam, or Kumbham, is the seventh month in a traditional Malayalam calendar followed in Kerala. Kumbha Masam in 2017 begins on February 13, 2018 and ends on March 14, 2018. Auspicious days in the month include Attukal Pongala, Sri Ramakrishna Jayanti, Tirunavaya Ekadasi, Kumbha Bharani, Chottanikara Makam and Tiruvilamala Ekadasi.

Mahashivratri is on February 13.

The month is of great significance in Bhagavathy Temples in South Kerala. Temple festivals are held in this month. Festivals in all most all the important temples are held during the period.

Full Moon and No Moon Day
  • Veluthuvavu or full moon day (Purnima) – March 1
  • Karthuvavu or Amavasi – February 15.
Ekadasi fasting dates - February 26 and March 13

Pradosham Fasting is on February 13, February 27 and March 14

Sashti Fasting - February 21
