Anwla Ekadashi In March

Anwla Ekadashi is observed on the Falgun Shukla Ekadasi (11th day during the waxing phase of moon in Falgun month) as per traditional calendar followed in North India. In 2025, Awala Ekadashi is on March 10. The day marks the beginning of full scale Holi celebrations in the Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan. Holika Dahan and Dhulandi festivals are observed three days later. 

Special pujas are held during the period Banke Bihari Temple. Lord Krishna is adorned in white clothes and color extracted from Tesu leaves is sprinkled on the devotees. Dry natural color powders are used during the festive occasion.

The day is observed as Amalaki Ekadasi in other regions.
