Vindhyavasini Puja in Jyeshta Month

Vindhyavasini Puja, or Maa Vindhyavasini Pooja, is held on the sixth day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Jyeshta month (May – June). In 2026, the date of Vindhyavasini Puja in Jyeshta Month is June 20. The day is considered highly auspicious for propitiating Goddess Vindhyavasini – an incarnation of Shakti.

Special pujas and rituals dedicated to Goddess Vindhyavasini are held on the day. Numerous other spiritual and religions events are held in regions that have temples of Vindhyavasini. The most important ceremony is held at the Vindhyavasini Temple in Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh.

Goddess Vindhyavasini is believed to be Durga that settled in the Vindhyachal hills after annihilating Demon Mahishasura.

It must be noted that the most important puja and festival dedicated to Vindhyavasini is held during the Navratri.
