Hanuman Creates A Dome Using His Tail To Protect Lakshmana and Rama From Mahiravana

As the war between Rama and Ravana progresses, Ravana faces the loss of many of his key warriors, including his mighty brother Kumbhakarna and his powerful son Indrajit. In a desperate attempt to turn the tide of battle, Ravana seeks the help of his son Mahiravana, who resides in the netherworld. Mahiravana is renowned for his mastery over magic and illusion, and his abilities are so formidable that even the gods fear him in battle. His association with Mahamaya in the netherworld grants him the fulfillment of any desire he wishes.

Vibhishana, Ravana's brother who has allied with Rama, informs Rama, Lakshmana, and the Vanara army about the power of Mahiravana. Vibhishana knows that as a sorcerer, Mahiravana would likely attack at night. He warns that Mahiravana will try to kidnap Rama and Lakshmana under the cover of darkness. Jambavan, the wise bear, advises that Mahiravana will not come out in the open but will attempt to steal away Rama and Lakshmana. He suggests that everyone stays awake and alert, and they sit together to plan how to handle this threat.

Hanuman, ever the resourceful and protective devotee, proposes a unique solution. He offers to create a dome using his tail to shield Rama and Lakshmana throughout the night. With his immense strength and divine abilities, Hanuman coils his tail to form a protective enclosure around Rama and Lakshmana. Sugriva, the king of the Vanaras, and Angada, his nephew, join inside the dome to stand guard. Sugriva takes the responsibility of protecting Rama while Angada is tasked with guarding Lakshmana.

Several other Vanaras also enter the dome to provide additional security for Rama and Lakshmana. Despite their vigilance and the seemingly impenetrable barrier created by Hanuman, Mahiravana's cunning and mastery of disguise prove to be a formidable challenge. Mahiravana, employing his magical abilities, takes on the guise of Vibhishana. Without realizing the trickery, Hanuman grants the disguised Mahiravana entry into the dome.

Mahiravana's deception and entry into the dome highlight the formidable nature of his sorcery and the challenges faced by Rama and his allies. This moment underscores the persistent and cunning threats that arise in the battle against Ravana and his forces, emphasizing the need for constant vigilance and the dangers of underestimating a foe skilled in the dark arts.
