Once upon a time, in the ancient realms of the universe, there existed a mighty demon named Kolahala. His strength was unparalleled, and his heart was filled with malice. Kolahala sought to conquer the three worlds: heaven, earth, and the netherworld. His ambition and power caused turmoil throughout the cosmos, disturbing the balance of creation.
The gods in heaven were in a state of constant fear and
unrest due to Kolahala's tyranny. They tried to combat him, but his power was
too great. In desperation, they sought the help of the supreme preserver of the
universe, Lord Vishnu.
Lord Vishnu, residing in his celestial abode Vaikuntha,
listened to the pleas of the gods. He understood that Kolahala's power came
from the boons granted to him by Lord Brahma, the creator. These boons made
Kolahala invincible to all beings except for one who could match his cunning
and strength.
Determined to restore peace, Vishnu devised a plan. He took
on the form of a celestial being, disguising his divine presence. With his deep
knowledge and strategic mind, he approached Kolahala. The demon, arrogant and
drunk with power, did not recognize Vishnu in his disguise.
Vishnu challenged Kolahala to a game of dice, wagering that
the winner would claim dominion over the universe. Kolahala, confident in his
luck and skill, accepted the challenge. The game was intense, filled with
moments of tension and excitement. Vishnu, with his divine wisdom, ensured that
the game proceeded in a way that slowly exposed Kolahala's weaknesses.
During the game, Vishnu subtly influenced Kolahala’s
thoughts and decisions, leading him to make mistakes. The demon's arrogance
grew with each passing moment, and he became careless. Eventually, Kolahala
lost the game, and with it, his claim to the universe.
In his anger and frustration, Kolahala attacked Vishnu,
revealing his true monstrous form. But Vishnu, now revealed in his divine
glory, was prepared. A fierce battle ensued between the two. Vishnu, wielding
his divine weapons, fought with unmatched prowess. The heavens trembled, and
the earth shook as the two mighty beings clashed.
Finally, Vishnu overpowered Kolahala, using his Sudarshana
Chakra, the divine discus, to vanquish the demon. Kolahala's death restored
balance to the cosmos, and the turmoil that had plagued the three worlds came
to an end.
The gods rejoiced and praised Vishnu for his wisdom and
strength. They learned a valuable lesson about the importance of humility and
the dangers of unchecked power. Vishnu returned to Vaikuntha, his mission
accomplished, and the universe once again thrived in harmony.
This story of Vishnu and the demon Kolahala serves as a
reminder of the eternal struggle between good and evil and the divine power
that ensures the preservation of balance in the universe.
