As per people who believe in Hindu astrology and vastu,
there is a particular position in the house to keep money safe and jewelry. The
money safe should be place in the south in such a way that the door opens
towards north. North is the abode of Kuber as per Hindu tradition.
On a Thursday, take a yellow color cloth and put five yellow
color cowry (Peeli Koudi), little bit of kesar or saffron and a gold coin in it
and place it in the money safe or almara along with money and ornaments. Peeli
Kawdi is associated with Goddess Lakshmi - लक्ष्मी
(पीली) कौड़ी. The cloth should be changed
on Akshaya Tritiya.
It is also auspicious to keep metal artifact or pictures of
gods or other decorations made of metal on the north wall on to which the money
safe is facing.
Dripping water in home is like dripping of money. All taps
should be properly closed. There should be no wastage of water.
The house should always be kept neat and clean to attract
the blessing of Goddess Lakshmi.
Puja should be offered in the morning or evening to Ganesha,
Lakshmi and Vishnu.
A small donation should be made every month.
Doing these things helps in retaining wealth and gets the
constant blessing of Goddess Lakshmi.
