Harivamsa Purana is an important scripture in Hinduism. It deals with the glories of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Harivasma literally means the dynasty of Hari – one of the names of Lord Vishnu. It is often referred to as the supplement of Mahabharata.

Harivamsa is divided into sections –
Harivamsa Prava – 55 Chapters
Vishnu Prava – 128 Chapters
Bhavishya Parva – 155 Chapters.

The Purana narrates Krishna’s birth and life, and the description of the age of Kali.
