Ivormadom Sree Krishna Temple – Story – Information

Ivormadom Sree Krishna temple is located at Pampady, near Thiruvilwamala, in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is also known as Ivar Madom Parthasarathy temple. The shrine is on the southern bank of Bharathapuzha River.

As per local belief, the murti of Bhagavan Sri Krishna worshipped in the temple was consecrated by the five Pandava brothers together. The main deity worshipped in the temple is Parthasarathy form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna.

Leg and right hand of the murti are damaged but there is firm belief that the murti should not be changed.

The darshanam of Ivor Madom Sree Krishna is towards east. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Nagam, Ayyappan, Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

The most important festival observed here is Gokulashtami or Sri Krishna Jayanti.

The temple is famous for Pitru Tarpanam. Devotees perform this annual ritual dedicated to dead ancestors. Karkidaka Vavu bali day attracts thousands of devotees.

It is believed that after the pratishta of the murti here, the Pandavas performed Pitru Tarpanam.

Thila Homam ritual for pitru preeti is performed in the temple.

The temple belongs to Ivor Madom Warrier.

The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Edava Masam (May - June).
