Dedicated to Hindu God Shiva, Jarkhandi Mahadev Temple is
located at Barbigha in Sheikhpura District of Bihar. This is an ancient shrine
and is situated at the Mahadevganj Mohalla in Barbhigha. Shiva is worshipped
here in the form of a swayambhu Shivling.
It is believed that those who follow dharma and offer
prayers to Baba Jarkhandi Mahadev will have their desires fulfilled.
Shivratri and Shravan month are the most auspicious period
in the temple.
On Shravan Purnima, hundreds of devotees carry Gangajal
(water from Ganga River) to offer Jalabhishek.
The architecture of the shrine is modern, as the original
shrine had undergone renovation numerous times.
