Bhogavapti Vrat and fasting is observed mainly in Rajasthan
and nearby regions in Ashada month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar
followed in North India . Bhogavati Vrat 2024 date is from June 22 to June 24. The vrat is observed during the first three days of
Ashada month as per purnimant calendar followed in North
India .
Prayers dedicated to Vishnu are performed for three days.
Person observing the vrat will be blessed with peace and
prosperity.
On all three days pujas dedicated to Vishnu are performed in
the morning and evening. The person only eats vegetarian food.
Performing annadanam or food donation during the period is
considered highly meritorious.
Bhogavapti Vrat is observed from Ashada Krishna Paksha
Pratipada to Tritiya – first day of the waning phase of moon in Ashada month to
the third day.
