Sanjivani Vidya Mantra – Blend of Gayatri and Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Sanjivani Vidya Mantra, containing 56 Aksharas (syllables), is a blend of Gayatri Mantra and Mrityunjaya Mantra. It is said that this mantra was meditated upon by Shukracharya, Ravanan, Sage Vishwamitra and later by Sage Vasishta, Sage Parashara, Sage Atri, Sage Jamadagni, Shri Anjaneya etc.

As per some scholars this mantra should never be chanted without proper initiation through a Sat Guru.

Sanjivani Vidya Mantra

Om tryambakam yajamahe
Om burbhuvassuvha tat savithur varenyam
Om Sugandhim pushti vardhanam
Om bhargo devasya dhimahi
Om urvarukamiva Bandhanat
Om dhiyo yo nah prachodayat
Om mrityor mukshiya maamritat

त्रयम्बकम यजामहे। 
भूभुर्वस्सुवः तत सवितुर वरेण्यम 
सुगनिधं पुष्टि वर्धनम 
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि 
उर्वारुकमिव बंधनात 
धियो यो : प्रचोदयात 
मृत्योर मुक्षीय मृतात 

The mantra is highly beneficial in overcoming fear of diseases and illness. It prepares the mind and body to defeat all kinds of diseases.

Other benefits of chanting the mantra include self realization, desire fulfillment, and prosperity.

The mantra should be chanted facing the rising sun after offering prayers to Ganesha and Lord Shiva.
