A List of Popular Ganesh Pandals 2018 in Pune during Ganesh Chaturthi 2018

There are hundreds of Ganesh Pandals in Pune during the Ganeshotsava festival. Each Ganesh Chaturthi mandal tries to outsmart the other by bringing in fresh ideas to the Ganpati pandals. Lord Ganesha is represented differently in each pandal. The pandals are noted for innovative ideas, decoration and some also for spreading social messages. Here is a List of Popular Ganesha Pandals 2018 in Pune during Ganesh Chaturthi 2018 from September 13.

Shri Kasba Ganpati Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Manda at Kasba Peth -
  • Shri Kasba Ganapati established in 1893 is one of the most popular Ganesh Chaturthi Mandals in Pune. The mandal is noted for decorative pandals with specific themes.
  • One day of the Ganesh Chathurthi festival of Shri Kasba Ganpati is dedicated to women.
  • The Kasba Ganapati leads the Ganesh immersion procession in Pune from 1894.
  • This Ganapati is recognized as the Gram Daivat of Pune.
  • The murti was discovered by Dadoji Kondev, a confidant of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Trust at Budhwar Peth 
  • Pune Dagdhusheth Halwai Ganapati is famous among Ganesha devotees around the world. 
  • The murti of Dagdusheth is one of the most sought after idols during Ganesh Chaturthi.
  • Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesha has a history of more than hundred years and is participating in the Ganeshotsav from 1893 – the year Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak introduced the massive public celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi in Pune.
  • The main murti worshipped here is 7.5 feet tall and is insured for a whopping 10 million rupees.

Rajarshi Shahu Chowk Ganeshitsav Mandal

This popular Ganesh mandal in Pune is famous for creating replicas of famous Hindu temples in India during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Tambadi Jogeshwari Ganapati Mandal at Appa Balwant Chowk
  • This Ganesha Mandal has been participating in Ganeshotsav from 1893 and the Jogeshwari Ganpati is one of the most famous Sarvajanik (Public) Ganesha Festival. 
  • It is located near famous Jogeshwari Temple and is one of the Ganpatis which Lokmanya Tilak started. 
  • Right from its inception the same Ganesh murti is being installed and is always placed on a silver palanquin.
  • Tambdi Jogeshwari is unique as it resembles an African elephant. It is considered Dusra Maancha Ganpati.

This Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal is noted for its huge and beautiful Ganesh Pandals.

Akhil Mandai Ganpati, Mahatma Phule Mandai Ganeshotsav Mandal


  • This popular Sarvajanik Ganesh mandal is noted for its decorations and also for involvement in social causes. 
  • It is also runs a cooperative credit society. 
  • The mandal was established in 1893. 
  • The Sharada-Ganesh idol was installed in 1898 and is made of paper pulp and cloth.
Vijay Maruti Mandal near Laxmi Road

Vijay Maruti Mandal is noted for its innovative ideas.

Chitrashala Mitra Mandal

Is noted for its religious history theme. The mandal is located at Laxmi road.

Shree Tulshibag Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal
  • This popular Ganesh Mandal at Budhwar Peth attracts thousands of devotees and is noted for its disciplined procession and other rituals. 
  • The 15-feet Ganesh idol of Tulshibag is popular among devotees and this idol is the tallest in Pune. 
  • It is the Manacha Chautha Ganpati in the city. 
  • The mandal was established in 1901.
Guruji Talim Ganapati at Laxmi Road 
  • Established in 1887, Guruji Talim Ganapati is popular for its decorations and replicas of temples and popular monuments. 
  • One of the oldest mandals in Pune city, it was established as a symbol of Hindu Muslim unity.
  • It is the very first Ganpati Mandal started in Pune by both Hindu and Muslim families - Bhiku Panduran Shindi and Vastad Nalband.
  • Guruji Talim Ganpati derived its name from the wrestling pit where it was established. This is the Manacha Tesssra Ganpati.
Kesariwada Ganeshotsav Trust
  • Lokmanya Tilak established this mandal in the year 1893 and it is the fifth Ganpati of honor in Pune during Ganeshotsav.
  • This Ganesh mandal has subdued celebrations and is noted for its social work.
  • There are two idols in their mandap - a small, quaint one and another in the background which is the bigger and made of metal.
Hatti Ganpati Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal
This pandal is famous for its decorations.
Pujas and rituals are attended by dedicated devotees who never miss the festival held by Hatti Ganpati Mandal.
