Spiritual Wisdom

If the pride of spirituality enters into you, woe unto you. It is the most awful bondage that ever existed. Neither can wealth nor any other bondage of the human heart bind the soul so much as this. “I am purer than others”, is the most awful idea that can enter into the human heart. In what sense are you pure? The God in you is the God in all. If you have not known this, you have known nothing. How can there be a difference? It is all one. Every being is the temple of the Most High; if you can see that, good, if not, spirituality has yet to come to you. (Swami Vivekananda)

Sri Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita: ‘Your right is for action alone, never for the results. Do not become the agent of the results of action. May you not have any inclinations for inaction.’

A boat may stay in the water, but water should not stay in the boat. A spiritual aspirant may live in the world, but the world should not live within him. (Sri Ramakrishna)

A poem on Lord Vishnu by Poihai

What form His devotees desire, that form itself the Lord takes;
What name His devotees desire, that name itself the Lord takes;
In what manner the devotees desire Him
And stand thinking of Him with unwinking eyes,
In that manner itself does the Lord of the Discus present Himself.
Poihai (Saint – Poet)

On Silence - BK Mohini Panjabi

Silence provides the opportunity for me to identify the qualities in myself that have the capacity to transform me. In silence I can connect to the highest quality of my lightest, clearest thinking.
Silence is not a lack of communication. There is a subtle language that connects us to one another through the eyes, with a smile, or a gesture. Fluency in this subtle language calls for our ability to observe the small details of life. As we develop our facility with this subtle language, we find that we are less dependent on the mechanical devices that can connect us but that can also make us feel more separate.

In silence I discover my innate qualities, the qualities that are intrinsic to who I am. Here in silence I touch my eternal self, and I come to trust this deepest essence.
