The huge 72-foot-tall eco-friendly idol of Ganesha that will be part of Vinayaka Chaviti festival on August 25, 2017, in Vijayawada is unique due to several reasons. The murti for Vinayaka Chaturthi 2017 is installed at the Gandhinagar’s Gymkhana Grounds and is made by the Doondi Ganesh Seva Samithi, which has been creating tall Ganpati idols in Vijayawada for the annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

Mushikavahana Gajanana is the theme in 2017. Ganesha will be seen taking the ride on a seven-mice-driven chariot.

  • Smooth finish is provided by Bombay clay, which is a refined clay powder.
  • Vegetable colors are used to give the murti a bright and radiant look.
  • Once the festival is over water sprinkler will be used to dismantle the murti.
