Kumbh Mela 2013 Live on DD Bharati

Kumbh Mela Festival 2013 held on the banks of River Ganga in Prayag – Sangam (Allahabad) will be aired live by DD Bharati. The live telecast will be available online from 8:30 AM. Currently DD Bharati is not telecasting its programs live online. So there will be no live streaming. You can watch it live online only from websites that will be doing streaming of DD Bharati.

Please note that cameras are not allowed near the bathing ghats. Photography is strictly prohibited. DD Bharati will be mostly telecasting the gathering of people and interviews with Swamijis and Scholars.

Today – January 13, 2013 – is Bhogi Pongal

Today – January 13, 2013 – is Bhogi Pongal, the first day of Pongal festival in Tamil Nadu and is also the first day of the Telugu Sankranti celebrations in Andhra Pradesh.  The day is popularly meant for cleaning – all things that are bad and of no use are burned on the day. Earlier only agricultural waste used to burned on the day.

On the Bhogi day people, decorate their homes, buy new vessels, other utensils and food items needed for the Pongal and Makar Sankranti celebrations.
