Goddess Umiya is an incarnation of Goddess Shakti – she is believed to be Goddess Sati and Goddess Parvati (Uma).

Chaitra Purnima 2015 date – Full moon day or Poornima in Chait Month in 2015

Chaitra Purnima, or Chait Poornima, is the full moon day in the month of Chaitra (March – April) in a traditional Hindu calendar. Chaitra Purnima 2015 date is April 4. Chait Poornima time is from 3:03 PM on April 3 to 4:57 PM on April 4. The most important festival on the day is the Hanuman Jayanti. The Purnima vrat is marked on April 3.

The Chaitra full moon day is as per calendars followed in North India, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Orissa.

The month-long Vaishakha Snana begins on Chaitra Poornima.

In Orissa, month-long special pujas dedicated to Goddess Mangala begins on Chaitra Purnima. The day is also highly auspicious for the fishing community and they offer special pujas for a better catch and safe fishing in the seas.

Madana Trayodashi 2018 Date

Madana Trayodashi is an auspicious day dedicated to Kama, the god of love and also to Lord Shiva. Madana Trayodashi 2018 date is March 29. It is observed on the 13th day of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month (March – April).

In Kashimiri Hindu culture, the day is dedicated to husband-wife relationship. On the day husbands give their wives a sacred bath using herbs and perfumes.

In some regions the day is also dedicated to Lord Shiva. Garuda Purana suggests that the thirteenth day during Chaitra Shukla Paksha is ideal for propitiating Lord Shiva.

For some communities, the day is part of Holi festival and relates to the legend of Shiva burning Kama into ashes.
