Today November 7, 2010 is the last day of Diwali. Today is also the first day of Kartik month as per traditional Hindu calendar followed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In North India, Kartik Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon begins today. Numerous rituals and pujas are held today by Hindu communities. Kartik month is also the first month in a traditional Gujarati Calendar.
