Vaisakh Month in 2010 – Vaisakha Mas in North Indian Hindu Calendar

Vaisakh Mahina, or Vaisakh Maas, is the second month in the traditional Hindu calendar followed in North India – especially in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. Vaisakha Mahina is a holy month and is noted for the month-long Vaisakh Snana (holy bath) in important rivers and sacred teerths. In 2010, Adhik Vaishakh Mahina begins on March 30 and ends on April 28. Nija Vaishakh Mahina or real Vaishakha month begins on April 29 and ends on May 27.
