Shri Vishwakarma Jayanthi, or Vishvakarma Jayanti, is dedicated to the divine architect of the universe. Vishwakarma Jayanti is observed on different dates in different parts of India. In Hindu Religion, Lord Vishwakarma is the divine architect of the universe and the divine carpenter. His name is mentioned in several Hindu scriptures and is credited with the building of sacred places and temples.
The name of Vishwakarma first appears in the Rig Veda and he is also credited with Sthapatya Veda, the science of mechanics and architecture.
Special pujas and prayers to Vishwakarma are offered on the day.
