Sri Tyagarja (1767 – 1847) was the greatest saint composer of Carnatic music and it is believed that he was an incarnation of Sage Valmiki, composer of the great epic Ramayana.
The main of the book, which is written in simple English and always to the point, is to help appreciate the Kritis of Sri Thyagaraja who are alien or only have limited knowledge of the language used in Kritis.
