GSB Seva Ganeshotsava Mandal Wadala – One of the popular Ganesh Chaturthi Pandals in Mumbai

The Ganesh Chaturthi Pandal of G.S.B. Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Samiti Wadala is one of the most popular Vinayaka Chaturthi pandals in Mumbai and is also one of the richest Ganapati idols in the city. The G.S.B Ganesh idol hosted at the Dwarakanath Bhavan at Wadala near Dadar TT has a history of more than 50 years. The first Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav was held here in 1955.

G.S.B. Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava celebrations is noted for the use of eco-friendly materials and methods including the huge clay idol. The idol is usually adorned with 60 kilograms of gold and 175 kilograms of silver. The golden crown on the idol weighs around 22 kg.

The samiti is also in the forefront of philanthropic activities which includes offering Educational Aid, Scholarship to students, feeding to poor people, medical assistance to needy and deserving. The trust regularly contributes to a number of institutions engaged in Human Relief Activities apart from directly promoting Educational and Welfare Activities.

During the 10-day festival people can conduct poojas and perform various rituals and contribute to the Anna Dana Seva – food distribution to all.
