Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra in Himachal Pradesh

Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra in Himachal Pradesh is an important pilgrimage to the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak – which resembles the Shivling – and is referred as the Kailash of Himachal Pradesh. Although a difficult trek, it is an important pilgrimage undertaken by scores of Lord Shiva devotees annually during the Shravan month. Near the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak there is also a small shrine of Lord Shiva.

Shrikhand Mahadev Peak is at a height of 5155 meter and the journey to the holy peak is through pristine nature and passes through numerous sacred places associated with Hinduism and its epics.

The best two routes to the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak are Shimla – Narkanda – Rampur –Busharhr – Arsu – Bagipul. From Kullu side: Bathad - Bashleu Pass – Kullu Sarahan.

Rampur Bushahr is around 130 km from Shimla. Bagipu is around 40 km from Rampur Bushahr. You can travel another 7 km in a vehicle to a small village nearby. The next part of the journey is by foot. It might take 3 to 5 days to reach the peak.
