First Hindu State School in Britain to Open in Edgware

The first Hindu State Primary School in Britain planned by the I-Foundation, a Hindu group, is all set to open in Edgware next September. At present there are no Hindu faith schools in Britain , while most other faiths have one. Hindu parents were concerned about their children losing touch with their culture and religion. On Monday night, the London Borough of Harrow voted in favour of granting planning consent for the 236-place primary school, on Camrose Avenue , Edgware. The local authority's approval for the plans follows the government's pledging of support for more religious schools where there is parental demand. About a third of schools in England are faith schools - including Jewish, Sikh, Muslim and Christian denominations. Mahayodha Ram – An animated 3D film based on Lord Rama

The new animation film titled Mahayodha Ram is in the 3D format and the film will be directed by Raizada Rohit Jaising Vaid. Produced by Abhimanyu Singh, the script of Mahayodha Ram is by Ashok Banker, author of six books on the series of Ramayana. Javed Akthar is writing the lyrics. The producers plan to release the movie in early 2008. According to Ashok Banker, Mahayodha Ram is going to be contemporary for today’s younger generation. It’s going to push animation to the limit. It won’t be a simple mythological film like Hanuman. Mahayodha Ram will have suspense, romance and action. Something you have never seen in any Indian animation film so far. Special Flower Arrangement for Venkateswara Brahmotsavams in Tirupati

One of the great attractions at the Brahmotsavam Utsavams in Tirumala Tirupati temple is the flower decorations. This year, to make the flower decoration a grand affair, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is even importing flowers from other countries. Tirumala Tirupati Brahmotsavams 2007 is from September 15 to September 23. During the Brahmotsavam utsavams, the main temple, surroundings of the main temple the four Mada Streets, small and sub-temples, the Pushkarini (sacred lake) and above all the vahanams carrying Srivari or Balaji will be decorated with the flowers of 130 varieties grown on the Tirumala hills and also imported from Pune, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai and abroad. Nearly 300 florists are striving hard to give a flowery look to Tirupati during the Brahmotsavams.
