Teacher Purifies Dalit Kids and School with Cow Urine

This horrific incident happened in Bhandara District of Maharashtra. Sharad Kaitade, an upper caste teacher, sprinkled ‘gomutra’ (cow’s urine) on students and inside the classrooms on assuming duty from Tilottama Tembhurkar, headmistress of the school, who belongs to a ‘lower’ caste.Thanks to the students who took up the matter with the parents and who alerted the district administration. Times of India reportsThe administration ordered a probe into the incident. The police personnel interrogated the headmaster and other teachers and also met the students and their parents. Finding substance in the villagers’ complaint, an offence was registered against Kaitade under Section 7, 1(D) of the Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1985. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2007

The Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2007 organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in India starts on June 1st and ends on September 2007. The pilgrimage duration will be of 26 days. Only those people who have applied for the Yatra before March 30, 2007 are eligible. It must be noted that the applications for the 2007 Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was invited in the month of January 2007. The Yatra includes visit to MountKailash – the abode of Lord Shiva – and MansarovarLake. According to Hindu scriptures, those who take a dip in the Manasarovar and complete the parikrama (circumambulate) around MountKailash are absolved of their sins and are liberated from the cycle of birth and death. They are ultimately united with Brahman (symbolically represented by Shiva). MountKailash and ManasarovarLake are in China. Helicopter service to Badrinath starts from Gaucher.
