Elephant Laden of Assam Hunted Down

The elephant, named after Osama Bin Laden, was killed on Sunday. It is said to have killed 14 people in the past three years in the Sonitpur District of Assam.

The Hindu reports

Deputy Forest Officer Chandan Bora on Sunday said, hunter Dwipen Ram Phukan shot the elephant at Behali Tea Estate in the district with the help of villagers.

The tuskless male aged between 45 and 50 years was about ten feet in height. The villagers helped in locating and identifying the elusive rogue, whose footprints confirmed that it was the "most wanted" elephant, Bora said.

Hope…they killed the right elephant…No idea how they concluded this was the rogue elephant which was on a killing spree for three years.
