Ratangarh Mata Ka Mandir is an ancient temple located in
Datia in Madhya Pradesh. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Ratangarh
Mandir is around 55 km from Datia and around 60 km from Gwalior.
The shrine is located inside forest and is on the banks of
Sindh River.
An important offering here is red cloth and bells. The
temple is also famous for a huge bell weighing nearly 2000 kilograms.
Kunwar Maharaj Shrine, which is around 5 km from Ratangarh,
is associated with the Mata Mandir. Kunwar Maharaj is believed to be the brother
of Mata.
The popular belief is that this temple was built in commemoration
of his victory over the mughals by Chhatraparti Shivaji Maharaj.
The most important festival observed here is Navratri
(September – October) and Bhai Dooj.
