Karumariamman Temple at Thiruverkadu in Tamil Nadu is an
ancient shrine dedicated to Goddess Karumariamman, a manifestation of Mother
Goddess Shakti. This is a powerful temple and numerous deities are worshipped
in the shrine. The shrine is around 12 km from Chennai
Koyambedu.

A unique offering here is ‘lock.’ Yajna with red chillies
are performed on Amavasi day.
The subsidiary deities worshipped in the temple are Ganesha,
Navgrahas, Muruga with his consort Valli and Daivayani, Srinivasa Padmavati and
Hanuman. There are small shrines dedicated to Dakshinamurti, Angala
Parameswari, Ganapati, Gayatri, Goddess Lakshmi, Rajarajeswari, Savitri and
Goddess Durga.
The temple is also noted for its festivals especially
in Aadi month.
