Story of Anadikalpeshwar Mahadev form of Shiva in Ujjain
Brahma was proud about his creation. He believed he was the
creator of all forms in the universe. One day a voice from the sky asked him to
go to Mahakaal Vana and find out the beginning and end of a Shivling called
Kalpeshwar. If he is able to find out the end and beginning, then he is the
creator of all forms.
Brahma went to Mahakaal Vana and attempted to find the end
and beginning of the Shivling but he failed in his mission.
The voice was heard again and it proclaimed that this Shivling
is known as Anadikalpeshwar and it was present from time immemorial. All forms
came after it. Even Brahma appeared much later.
