Subahu in Ramayana

Subahu is a demon who obstructed the yajnas, or sacrifices, of Sages in the Ramayana. Subahu, Maricha and other demons constantly disturbed and desecrated the yajnas of sages in the forest. Bhagavan Sri Ram annihilated the demon. In the Ramayana, King Dasharatha of Ayodhya reluctantly sends his sons Rama and Lakshmana to protect a yajna of Sage Vishwamitra. The sage had come to Ayodhya and personally requested to king to send his two sons. On the way to the hermitage, Sri Ram annihilated demoness Tataka. Sage Vishwamitra reached his ashrama and began the yajna at the appointed time with Rama and Lakshmana guarding the ashrama. On the sixth day, Subahu, his brother Maricha and his friends appeared in the sky. They created terrifying noise and started pouring blood into the yajna pit. They threw meat all over the place.
