Vithalai Jagar at Boravade is annually observed in Phagun month. The Jagar is an important ritual at the Vithalai Devi Mandir at Boravade in Kagal Taluka of Kolhapur District, Maharashtra. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Vithalai, gram devata. Boravade Vithalai Jagar 2017 date is March 26.
The shrine is decorated with lamps, lights, flowers, leaves and sugarcane for the occasion.
Hundreds of people participate in the unique ritual. The temple remains open during the entire day and different rituals take place. All night vigil is kept on the day.
Vithalai Jagar at Boravade is observed on Phalgun Krishna Paksha Trayodasi Tithi or the 13th day during the waning phase of moon Phalgun month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.
