Sonar Siddhanath Rathotsav at Bhikawadi Khurd at Kadegaon Taluka of Sangli District

Sonar Siddhanath Rathotsav is observed in Chaitra month. It is the important fair and chariot festival at the Sonar Siddhanath Temple at Bhikawadi Khurd at Kadegaon Taluka of Sangli District, Maharashtra. Sonar Siddhanath Rathotsav 2024 date is April 12.

The annual fair and festival attracts hundreds of devotees. A lavishly decorated wooden chariot is pulled through the village on the day. It contains the utsava murti of Sonar Siddhanath. The chariot is decorated with flowers, leaves, plantain, sugarcane, lamps and lights.



Thousands of people arrive to witness the chariot majestically moving through the village.

Sonar Siddhanath Rathotsav at Bhikawadi Khurd is held on Chaitra Shukla Paksha Chaturthi Tithi or the fourth day during the waxing phase of moon Chaitra month as per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.

Siddhanath is worshipped in many temples in Rural Maharashtra. The popular belief is that Siddhanath is a manifestation of Lord Shiva.
