Kargani Ram Yatra is organized in Magh month. It is the
annual festival and fair held at Ram Mandir at Kargani in Atpadi Taluka of Sangli
District Maharashtra. Kargani Ram Yatra 2025 date is February 27. The temple is
located around 32 km south of Atpadi.
The popular belief is that Bhagavan Sri Ram worshipped the
Shivling here. The temple has murtis of Bhagavan Sri Ram, Mata Sita and
Lakshman. Legend has it that the Shivling in the temple was discovered when the
sword in the hand of Lakshman fell down and blood appeared.
The shrine is decorated for the occasion with lamps, lights,
leaves, flowers etc for the occasion. Food donation is also held during the
period.
Ram Yatra at Kargani is observed on Magh Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi
Tithi or the fourteenth day during the waxing phase of moon in Magh month as
per traditional Hindu lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra.
