Sri Kunniradathu Malanada Dushala Temple Malakuda festival
is observed in Kumbham month. The shrine is dedicated to Dushala of
Mahabharata. The annual festival is noted for its unique rituals, traditions
and pageantry.
The festival is famous for Kettukazhcha – a ritual in which
shapes of horse, ox (Eduppu Kala and Eduppu Kuthira) and other pageantry are carried to the shrine.
Hundreds of devotees participate in the ritual and
festivities.
The shrine is traditionally decorated with leaves, coconut
fronds, lamps, lights and other flowers.
