Flag Staff in Hindu Temple – Dwaja Stambha or Flag Hoisting Pole in Front of a Temple

Dhvaja Stambha, or Flag Staff, is an important feature of most South Indian Temples. In North Indian Temples, flags are hoisted from a section of the main temple and rarely do we see a separate flag pole or Dhwaja Stambha. The flag staff is located in front of the Sanctum. There is no major symbolism attributed to the flag staff in a temple (flag of a temple do have symbolism attached to it). A Dhvaja Stamba usually represents the prosperity and pride of a temple. But some texts do suggest that the bottom of a flag post symbolizes Shiva, middle portion Brahma and the top portion Vishnu.
A permanent Dvaja Stambha is believed to be a later addition to the HinduTemple. Initially, it was temporary and was primarily used to indicate the beginning of a festival or other auspicious days and occasions.

The 4 Hands - represents the 4 aspects of the inner personality - Manas (mind), Buddhi (intellect), Chitta (conditioned consciousness, memory) and Ahamkara (ego).
The Veena - The suggestion is that the guru tunes up the mind and intellect of the seeker to be in perfect harmony with the universe, and thus he surrenders his individual conditioning and ego.

He that speaks truth always is sitting on the lap of God – Sri Ramakrishna

He that speaks truth always is sitting on the lap of God, as it were.
Knowledge of many is ignorance and knowledge of One is true knowledge.
Ignorance lasts as long as one has ego. There can be no liberation so long as the ego remains. ‘O God, Thou art the Doer and not I’—that is knowledge.
Shakti alone is the root of the universe. That Primal Energy has two aspects: Vidya and Avidya. Avidya deludes. Avidya conjures up lust and greed, which casts the spell. Vidya begets devotion, kindness, wisdom, and love, which lead one to God. This Avidya must be propitiated, and that is the purpose of the rites of Shakti worship. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
