Diwali Padwa 2024 - Spiritual Significance of Diwali Padwa in Maharashtra

Diwali Padwa is the fourth day of Diwali observed in Maharashtra and western parts of India. Diwali Padwa 2024 date is November 2. It is observed on Kartik Shukla Paksha Pratipada or the first day during the waxing phase of moon in Kartik month as per traditional Marathi lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra and is of great spiritual significance.

  • Special pujas are offered to Ganesha on the day.
  • Balipratipada is observed in western parts of India. King Bali began to rule Bhukok on this day.
The day is usually spared for visiting relatives and friends. Many shops and business establishments remain closed on the day.
