Navratri Festival at Washim Balaji Mandir is held in Ashwin
month. This is one of the most important fair and festival at the Balaji Temple
in Washim in Maharashtra. Washim Balaji Mandir Navratri 2024 date is October 3 to October 12, 2024.
The festival begins with hoisting of flags and erecting of
Garuda Pillar made of silver.
Music festivals, storytelling and satsangs are organized
during the 9-day period.
Utsav murti of Balaji is taken to Goddess Chamundi Temple and
the Washim Balaji Trust offer pujas and silk saree to Goddess. On the 10th day
(Vijayadasami day), which is last day, utsava murti and Padukas are taken out
on a wooden chariot to the end of municipal limits of the town to carry out
Simolanghan ritual.
Navratri Festival at Washim Balaji Mandir is annually held
from Ashwin Shukla Paksha Pratipada Tithi to Navami tithi or the first to ninth
day of waxing phase of moon in Ashwin month as per traditional Hindu lunar
calendar followed in Maharashtra.
