Sri Durga Lakshmaneswara Swamy Temple is located at Laxmaneswaram,
which is about 3 km from Narsapur in West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh.
The shrine is located near the Vasista River (also known as the Vasista
Godavari). The temple is dedicated to Mother Goddess Durga. It is believed that
Lakshman, brother of Bhagvan Sri Ram established the Shrine.
This is a fierce form of Mother Goddess. However, she is
kind to her devotees and fulfills their wishes. It is said that the Goddess do
not like any commotion. She expects peace and silence. Due to this reason,
there are no houses near the shrine.
Tuesdays and Fridays are important days here.
Annual temple festival and Navratri are the important
festivals observed here.
