Moti Puja – How to do Puja of Moti Ring Birthstone? – Gemstone Moti Ring Puja Procedure

Moti Puja should be performed on Monday. Here is a brief description on how to do puja of Moti Ring with birthstone. Please note that procedure of the Gemstone Moti Ring is just a guideline and you can be flexible while performing it.

When to do Moti Puja?

The puja should be performed on Monday between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM or 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. It is performed on Monday because Moti is associated with Chandra or Moon God. In Hinduism, Monday or Somvar is dedicated to Chandra and Shiva.


Items needed while doing Moti Puja
Two Thali or two plates
Kalash – a small copper pot
Rice
Curd
Jasmine or white flowers
Lamp
Chandan
Kumkum
Picture of Shiva and Goddess Parvati
Milk Kheer or a white color sweet

Gemstone Moti Puja Procedure
After taking bath and purifying oneself offer prayers to Ganesha. Then offer prayers to Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Chandra moon god.

Pour curd in the kalash and put the Moti or Moti ornament or Moti ring in it.
Apply chandan and kumkum to the kalash
Take a plate and put rice on it. Spread the rice evenly.
Place the kalash with Moti on the rice in the plate.
Close the kalash with another plate and place the picture of Shiva and Goddess Parvati on it.
Offer prayers and perform an aarti
Offer flowers.
Take some rice and offer it to Chandra (imagine moon good you don't need a picture or idol). Put it near the kalash.
Chant the Chandra Mantra 108 times.
Offer milk kheer as prasad. Later share it with family members.

Padma Dwajaya Vidhmahe
Hema Roopaya Dheemahi
Tanno Soma Prachodayath

 After taking the Moti out, the curd should be deposited under a tree or given to animals.
