Mani Dvipa is an island that exists in an unknown place. It
is the abode of Mother Shakti – the primordial Devi in whom all living and
nonliving rises and falls. Information about Manidvipa is found in the Devi
Bhagavatam. The location of the jeweled island is described as follows:
Above Brahmaloka is Sarvaloka, according to shruti. That indeed is Mani Dvipa, where shines the Devi. Because it is above all (sarva),
it is called Sarvaloka. (Devi Bhagavad Purna XII. 10. 1 – 2).
Mani Dvipa has a terrestrial counterpart or manifestation in
the world. It is the Vindhyavasini
Temple in Vindhyachal.
The island is home to all kinds of trees, fruits, flowers,
birds and animals.
In Mani Dvipa on a splendid pavilion one can find the mystic
throne Sivaakara. The four legs of the throne are Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and
Dharma.Mother Goddess Shakti reclines on this throne.
Mani Dvipa is not in this world. It is not in this universe.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva crosses numerous worlds, sees numerous Brahmas,
Vishnus and Shivas before reaching the abode of Mother Goddess Shakti.
